Chapter Three

     Mindy had done it, it had been two months and she wanted to show off a picture of her camp, she texted the photo to Eva. 

She had everything she needed from food,  a toilet, and even down to washing her clothes. It was simple and roughing it but it was hers. She even liked that the property still showed the lines of the house that had burned down before she had bought the property. 

Misty still went out periodically with Eva, But mostly she had been spending her time with a young comedian from a town one over called Oasis Springs. She enjoyed going there and finally getting her fishing up so she could sell to the restaurant again. She hoped to discover more garden produce there. It was hard as her ever-growing garden and a full-time job was time-consuming. 

Gradually she and Johnny became best friends and she asked him to move in with her after his house caught fire. She hoped by being roommates it would grow into more. Besides Johnny basically lost everything. They bought a camp cot and switched off sleeping in the tent and the cot based on their work schedules. 

Mindy estimated with two incomes and the garden, books, and paintings they could start to build a small house in 2 months. They had saved up 12, 800 since Johnny had moved in and could help with the ever-growing garden. 

      If only they could have sold Johnny's house but fire is fire and he lost everything. What didn't burn was ruined from the smoke and soot.  Johhny suffered for a week with a burnt arm from the fire pit they used to cook on, He wasn't used to roughing but was finding that he enjoyed it. 

    Finally, at 26,000 simoleons, They decided to start on the house. The problems were they were both unskilled so they started slow and built a room at a time starting with the bathroom. They thought they did ok and choose one color as it was the cheapest option. Soft yellow and you can't go wrong

As the weeks passed and the income came in from comedy and writing, as well as selling books paintings and the ever-growing garden, they built the first stage of the house. 

On the day they finished the roof things got romantic, boyfriend and girlfriend to marriage proposals happened. Too much juice celebrating.

Mindy didn't mind Johnny was her best friend. From Friends to lovers to life. She wasn't even worried they were moving too fast. She realized now the monster of her past had actually shown himself and she had just missed it. Johnny Zest was Johnny so sweet and loving.   Misty was ecstatic  so they broke in the tent with woohoo. Times were good. Mindy looked forward to the weeks to come.
