The Larson Family Legacy, And The Knight Of                               The Octagon Table.

Chapter One

     Mindy Larson Stepped out of the cab reached in and paid the driver. Thank you so much she said, cringing as she gave him a tip.  She watched him drive away. When he was gone Mindy took a deep breath and smelled her freedom. She had been all alone long enough not to be sad about having absolutely no family. She Had nothing to her name. Her wonderful lover turned out to be a monster in disguise. She literally walked, well had run with the clothes on her back and her purse. Stopping long enough to clean out her bank account.

     Mindy had been with the secret monster for three years. She had seen a mild temper but suddenly after 3 years he had taken off a mask and revealed himself. He was the jealous sort so when she left she decided to disappear off the face of the earth. She had no family after her mother passed 4 years ago so she had no family ties or connection to anything or anyone. To disappear she decided to change her name. That took 1500.00 dollars of her hard saved money. She stayed in a hotel in the city for a week while she decided on her new name. Larson is what she decided.

     She had a small insurance policy payout when her mom died and she had saved every dime from work since. Thank the heavens she had never co-mingled her money with the monster. He actually didn't know she had a nest egg. For some reason, she had never shared that info even after they moved in together, Three years later and a whole continent away she found herself in a sleepy little town called   Windenburg in the Country of Simland.

     She was in the town center and had enough time to grab a cup of coffee before she met the realtor at the property she was considering.  She would ask in the coffee shop where she needed to head and how. Windenburg it seemed was surrounded by water. That was something she wanted and what actually drew her here to see this plot of land.  A new land, a new name and a whole new way of doing things, She had decided she would not be alone any longer and she would have a large family. To that, she decided to sink everything she had on a large plot of land and start from the beginning. It was going to be tough but she was strong and she knew she could rough it a bit.

     What a quaint little place with water that was everywhere. The air  was fresh. There was a slight fishy smell but not unpleasant. She stood in front of the coffee shop amused by the quaintness of the name. Hare and Hedgehog.  She walked in and ordered coffee. She asked the waitress where the lot was located and how to get there.  She and the waitress hit it off right away. They were close in age, The waitress introduced herself as Eva. Mindy asked how one got around on so much water. Eva said by water taxi. Mindy was not surprised or unhappy about the mode of travel. Perhaps she could one day get her own boat. Eva told her the history of the property she was going to look at.

     Not too drama filled  it was the Fyres family old lot. Their house had caught fire and burned totally to the ground. Rather than rebuild they bought the house across the street with the insurance windfall, They hired out and had the lot cleaned up and put it up for sale.

     Mindy had happened to be in the right place at the right time when someone was talking about it in the courthouse from her old home far far away.  It made her think changing her name was right especially if this land was right for her. She wouldn't know until she saw it  By eavesdropping She learned about a piece of land far away in a whole other country. She figured the people talking about it must have been on holiday. After getting back to her hotel she couldn't stop thinking about the land being for sale. Could she, move that far away and start over. Finally, she decided yes, yes she could. it would ensure the monster never ever found her. She saw it as a perfect way to completely end one part of her empty life and begin a new part of her life. One overheard conversation about a piece of land in another country paved her way to make a huge change in her life if she liked the lot. Mindy thanked Eva for the information. Eva asked for her number so that perhaps they could hang out.

     Mindy sat a table and sipped her expresso and munched on her cannoli. She was dreaming of her large new family plot beginning.  64 acres what was she thinking! She giggled inwardly realizing she would need a tent and some things to start off while she saved to build. It was going to take all her money.  She calculated she would have 8000 left after she bought the property. Well,  minus a a taci, cannoli and a drink. At least it was big enough that she could hide in the back and perhaps no one would notice or hopefully care she was going to be living off the land. She was started out of her thoughts as some folks set down at her table.

     Moira Fyres and the Bjersen's,  Clara and Bjorn sat down. The Bjersen's set very close together and smiled then moved their chairs closer together, Goodness Lovey Dovey is they she thought.

     Hello, Moira said,  you are a new face she said holding out her hand to shake Mindy's. Yes, yes I am Mindy smiled. I'm meeting a realtor about some property. Clara smiled shall we be neighbors in the future? Mindy laughed If you are near 64 acres for sale then we might be. I pretended not to know that it was her old property and she was happy to tell me all I already knew.

Clara and Bjorn had eyes only for each other. Moira laughed and said don't mind them they are always like that even after being married as long as they have been. She went right back to telling me all about the neighborhood,

I smiled and nodded while she talked. She got sort of nasty look on her face when Judith Ward walked in. My eyes popped out of my head I had no idea I would see anyone famous in my dash to disappear, The poor woman was surrounded by paparazzi and fans. Mindy was so glad when it was time to meet the realtor.  She made her excuses and set off across the water, Tucking all the names that Moira had shared in the back of her mind. Judith's entrance allowed her to make her exit. Mindy wondered how she would like the Landgrabs, Rosa's and Munch's if and when she met them in the future.  If they were anything like Moira she was sure that she would meet them and probably not like them as well.  She found it odd that the same family names existed in Sunset Vally. She also noticed for all Moira's angst that a star had walked in that isn't stop her from marching over and introducing herself. Mindy laughed from the cab as she watched Moira faint.


    Mindy met the realtor and took the property right away.  When she was finally finished with the paperwork and alone she pulled out her phone and decided to buy a table to start with.  She typed in the letters for a table and was surprised when a picture of a knight in shining armor popped up instead.  In bright letters and in all caps, the ad said:  THE LAST ONE, HALF PRICE, MUST SELL IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!

     Mindy mused over the knight and thought of her dream of a future and starting over. She didn't want her life to continue on alone as she and her mother had been. Her mother too had been alone before Mindy was born. Mindy wanted a different future. She saw a future legacy of a large family. Protected by the knight. She shook her head, how silly.

    She intended to get a job and live off the land anyway.  The Larson Family Legacy and The Knight Of The Octagon Table. She giggled at how absolutely ridiculous she was being even considering buying a knight in shining armor. Mindy laughed, it sounded like a book. She would be crazy to buy the knight. How could she even consider buying a knight in shining armor?  If she bought the knight she would have nothing,  absolutely nothing. It cost 8,200.00 Simolians Not to mention she was 200 simoleons and some change shy after her cab, cuppa, and cannoli.

     Suddenly, she remembered the sign she saw on the board while I was waiting for her food. Fresh Fish and Produce needed for my restaurant will pay cash. Bring it into the restaurant.   Mindy thought I can do this  I can use the gym and pool to clean up and eat locally. It shouldn't take long to buy a toilet! She giggled again and took off running to the back of her property where she saw a fishing sign......
